NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITIONS

Inspection Services Division Manager,
$57,005-$79,807/Annual/DOQ.
Supervises the activities of the Inspection Services
division of the community Development Department.
Work in this class involves responsibility for
planning, organizing, instructing and supervising a
City-wide inspection program involving the enforcement of
all municipal codes and ordinances governing building,
construction and minimum housing standards.
Work primarily involves supervision and
administration of the activities of support staff and field
inspectors assigned to the Division.
Employee is responsible for training, supervising and
coordinating the work of subordinate inspectors and making
follow-up inspections for condemnation action to be taken by
the city council.
Work is reviewed independently, but is reviewed by
the Community Development Director for effectiveness and
conformance with established municipal and departmental
policies. Associates Degree or equivalent and eight to ten
years experience in building construction trade at the
journey level, supervisory or contractor level, including
experience as an inspector or any equivalent combination of
experience and training that provides the required
knowledge, skill and abilities.

Utilities Director, $81,145-$115,994/Annual/DOQ.
Under general executive direction of the City Manager, this
position will plan and direct the progress and activities of
the Utilities Department. This is a department director
position with full responsibility for the direction,
management and operation of the municipal water system;
water pollution control and pumping plants; storm sewer
collection systems; solid waste collection and disposal
system and the air pollution monitoring program.
Graduation from an accredited four year college or
university with major course work in biology, chemistry,
engineering, environmental services or related field
necessary. P.E.
licensure preferred.
Extensive experience in directing and managing water
and/or waste water plants, supervising employees and
contract management desired.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

This full-time position will assist customers from a
public service desk and throughout the Library helping them
find books, information and providing hands-on assistance in

department head.
Position will also process and coordinate Federal and
State Grants, serve as secretary and support staff for

Part-time employee would oversee Long Lines Family Rec
center scheduled events.
Needs to be responsible, able to take/follow
directions and be customer service oriented. Responsible for
facility maintenance and preparation/setup users.
Must be knowledgeable in building maintenance to
include specialty floor maintenance, restroom cleaning,
sport equipment staging.
Will supervise facility attendees, collect fees and
complete reports.
First Aid and CPR certificates are a plus.
Employee will work evenings and weekends, hours may
change day to day.

primary operation of Long Lines Family Rec Center.
Must be dependable and able to work unsupervised.

hours and special events.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL WORK (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)
Supervises the Construction Code enforcement program;
assigns, directs and reviews the work of subordinates;
instructs them in uniform methods of inspections procedures.
Coordinates and tracks inspections performed in the field.
Makes decisions on complex or controversial problems related
to field inspection activities; performs inspections as
needed. Answers inquiries; interprets Construction Code
related standards, rules and regulations and makes decisions
on technical problems of code enforcement and applications
related to field inspections activities. Assists in
reviewing architectural and structural plans of residences,
buildings and other structures for approval and issuance of
permits as needed. Supervises the complaint investigation,
evaluation and condemnation of structures within the scope
of the Permit and Development Center's responsibilities.
Assists in the research and investigation of new products,
materials and methods of construction and prepares technical
reports as a result of this research. Maintains liaison with
local contractors, builders, architects, engineers and other
departmental representatives. Coordinates the annual license
renewal inspections for theaters, homeless shelters, beer
and liquor dispensing establishments as well as other annual
inspection responsibilities of the Permit and Development
Division. Reviews, analyzes and recommends to the
Administrator new or revised code regulations and policies.
Testifies in court. Drives to and from inspection site
locations as needed. Works continually towards the most
effective and efficient methods of conducting inspections
and enforcing codes while emphasizing optimum customer
service.
